Black and British | Happier Every Chapter
The start of Black History Month is only a few days away. As we mentioned last week, our theme for October is 'Celebrating Black History Month (with a hint of Halloween)'. We have chosen one book that encompasses the importance of Black History Month, and one that is on the witchier side (which we are keeping a secret for now. You'll have to subscribe to see!).
Black and British: A Forgotten History by David Olusoga is our chosen book to help educate children our age about the history of being black whilst living in Britain in the years gone by. Something that we haven't featured in our boxes very much in the past is non-fiction. Black and British is informative and factual, but also written in a way that young people can easily understand and digest.
