By using our website, placing an order or booking one of our services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing an order.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

3. Using our website

You agree to use our website lawfully and respectfully. You must not use our website in any way that damages the site, interferes with other users, attempts to gain unauthorised access, copies our content without permission, or uses our website for fraudulent or unlawful purposes.

We may update, suspend or remove any part of the website at any time.

4. Product and service information

We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, service descriptions, prices, images, availability and other information on our website are accurate.

However, minor variations may occur. Images are for illustration and guidance only. Book covers, editions, formats, packaging, gifts, box contents or bundle contents may vary from the images shown.

Where we provide book recommendations, age guidance, reading-level guidance or curriculum-related information, this is provided in good faith. The final decision about whether a book or resource is suitable for a child, pupil, class, setting or organisation remains with the parent, carer, school, organisation or purchaser.

5. Orders

When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy the products or services in your basket.

Your order is accepted once we confirm acceptance, process payment or dispatch the goods, whichever happens first. We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where necessary, including where:

  • An item is unavailable

  • There is an error in the price or description

  • Payment has not been authorised

  • Delivery details are incomplete or incorrect

  • We suspect fraud or misuse

  • We are unable to fulfil a bespoke or organisational request

Please check your order details carefully before submitting your order. We may not be able to amend an order once it has been processed or dispatched.

6. Pricing and payment

Prices are shown on the website at the time you place your order.

Payment is taken when you place your order, unless otherwise agreed in writing for school, corporate, local authority or organisational purchases.

We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. Payments are processed through secure third-party payment providers. We do not store your full card details.

For schools, trusts, local authorities, businesses and other organisations, invoices, purchase orders or agreed payment terms may be accepted at our discretion. Late payment may result in delayed delivery, suspension of services or cancellation of future work.

7. Product availability and substitutions

We aim to provide the books, products and resources shown or described. However, availability can change, especially for curated bundles, subscriptions, school packages and bespoke book selections.

Where a specific book or product is unavailable, we may offer a suitable alternative of similar value, quality, theme, age range or purpose. For significant substitutions, we will contact you where reasonably possible before dispatch.

For curated boxes, subscriptions, bundles and school packages, the exact contents may vary from previous boxes, website images or promotional examples.

8. Book subscriptions

Where you purchase a subscription, the subscription terms shown at checkout or on the relevant product page will apply.

Subscription boxes or recurring book deliveries may vary each month according to theme, availability, age range, reading stage, stock, seasonal relevance or curation decisions.

You are responsible for keeping your delivery address and payment details up to date. We are not responsible for failed deliveries caused by incorrect or outdated delivery information.

Subscription cancellations, pauses or changes must be requested before the next payment or processing date. Once a subscription order has been processed or dispatched, we may not be able to cancel or amend that shipment.

9. School, trust, corporate and bespoke orders

School, trust, local authority, corporate, charity, event, wholesale, bulk and bespoke orders may be subject to separate written proposals, quotes, invoices, service agreements or statements of work.

Where separate written terms have been agreed, those terms will apply alongside these Terms and Conditions. If there is a conflict, the separately agreed written terms will take priority for that specific order or project.

Bespoke, curated, customised, commissioned, labelled, packaged or made-to-order items may not be cancellable once work has started, unless required by law or agreed by us in writing.

10. Workshops, speaking, audits and consultancy

Where you book a workshop, speaking engagement, author visit, literacy audit, training session, consultancy project or programme, the details will be confirmed in writing.

This may include the date, time, venue, audience, deliverables, fees, payment terms, travel costs, cancellation terms and any materials required.

For work delivered in schools, community settings or with children and young people, the school, organisation or host remains responsible for safeguarding, supervision, behaviour management, parental permissions, health and safety, and ensuring that the setting is suitable, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

If you need to cancel or rearrange a booked service, please contact us as soon as possible. Cancellation charges may apply where preparation, travel, materials, staffing, ordering or other costs have already been incurred.

11. Delivery

Delivery options, estimated delivery times and costs are shown at checkout or agreed separately for organisational orders.

Delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed unless expressly agreed in writing.

Please provide a complete and accurate delivery address. We are not responsible for delays, failed deliveries or lost parcels caused by incorrect, incomplete or inaccessible delivery details.

Risk in the goods passes to you once the goods have been delivered to the delivery address supplied.

12. Damaged, faulty or incorrect orders

We take care to ensure that books, bundles, boxes and other products are supplied in good condition.

Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If your order is damaged, faulty, incomplete or incorrect, please email hello@happiereverychapter.com as soon as possible with:

  • Your order number

  • A description of the issue

  • Clear photographs of the product

  • Clear photographs of the packaging, where relevant

Where we confirm that an item is damaged, faulty, misdescribed or incorrect, we will offer an appropriate remedy. This may include a replacement, refund, partial refund or suitable alternative.

We cannot accept responsibility for damage or deterioration caused by incorrect delivery details, failure to collect a parcel, refusal of delivery, delayed opening of parcels, misuse, accidental damage or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

13. Returns and refunds

Please see our separate Delivery, Returns and Refunds Policy for full details.

Where you are buying as a consumer online, you may have a legal right to cancel eligible goods within 14 days of receiving them.

Returned items must usually be unused, in their original condition and returned in line with our returns instructions.

Some items may not be returnable unless faulty, damaged, misdescribed or incorrect. This may include personalised items, bespoke orders, digital downloads, event bookings, commissioned work or services that have already started with your agreement.

Refunds will usually be made to the original payment method.

14. Digital products and downloadable resources

Where we provide digital products, downloads, templates, worksheets, reports, scorecards, audits, guides or other resources, these are for the use stated at the point of purchase or download.

You may not resell, reproduce, distribute, upload, share publicly, modify for resale or use our digital resources commercially without written permission.

Where you ask us to provide digital content immediately, you may lose your right to cancel once the download or access has started, where permitted by law.

15. Discounts, offers and promotions

Discounts, promotions, bundles, voucher codes and special offers are subject to availability and may be withdrawn or changed at any time.

Only one discount or promotional offer may be used per order unless expressly stated otherwise.

Promotional codes cannot usually be applied retrospectively to orders already placed.

16. Gift orders

If you place an order as a gift, you are responsible for ensuring that the recipient’s name, address and delivery details are correct.

We are not responsible where a gift cannot be delivered because the recipient is away, unavailable, unknown at the address, refuses delivery or where incorrect delivery details have been provided.

17. Intellectual property

All content on this website and in our materials belongs to Happier Every Chapter Ltd or our authorised licensors unless otherwise stated.

This includes text, images, designs, logos, branding, product descriptions, frameworks, resources, downloads, workshop materials, audits, training content and programme materials.

You may not copy, reproduce, adapt, distribute, sell, publish or use our content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

18. Reviews, testimonials and customer content

If you provide a review, testimonial, photograph, comment, case study contribution or feedback, you confirm that it is honest and that you have the right to share it.

We may use customer feedback for service improvement, marketing or promotional purposes, unless you ask us not to or unless separate consent is required.

For photographs, names or stories involving children, pupils or vulnerable individuals, we will only use identifiable content where appropriate consent has been obtained.

19. Privacy and personal data

We collect and use personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information.

20. Liability

We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms and Conditions or our negligence.

We are not responsible for losses that are not foreseeable, business losses for consumer purchases, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, indirect losses, or losses caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.

21. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform our obligations where this is caused by events outside our reasonable control.

This may include postal delays, courier disruption, supplier delays, severe weather, strikes, illness, accidents, technical failures, school closures, transport disruption, public emergencies or other circumstances beyond our control.

22. Changes to these Terms and Conditions

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.

The version that applies to your order will be the version in place at the time you place your order, unless a change is required by law or regulatory authority.

We encourage you to review these Terms and Conditions whenever you use our website or place an order.

23. Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you may also benefit from any mandatory legal protections that apply in the country where you live.
