Over 200 school children are lost to suicide every year in the UK and these stats are only released for children 10-14.
According to the British Journal of Psychiatry as quoted by an article in The Guardian, about 7% of U.K. children have attempted suicide by age 17 but we don’t talk about suicide in schoolchildren.
To say its been a very special week is an understatement...The Disney Ultimate Princess Time to Shine Campaign launched, and we presented the pep talks! This is a Disney and The Female Lead campaign all about encouraging young girls starting school and building their confidence for when they do! We are so excited to be a part of this campaign and be inducted as the very FIRST EVER Young Female Leads. we're still in shock of how amazing all of this is! For this campaign which aims to uplift young girls starting school, Aiyven and I wrote 3 mantras based on 3 princesses: Tiana, Elsa and Moana.
The quote “In a world where you can be anything be kind” gets me, every time. It urges me to consider my thoughts and actions carefully.
How are we teaching kindness to the younger generation? Nothing beats modelling it ourselves. Books come close too. Even better because they learn/see kindness and empathy in others too
